Really?

It is pouring, did you hear me? Pouring down rain!  And it is dark, And it is cold!  And it is Sunday afternoon!   So I guess the only thing to do is Blog, so get ready because I have to get something off my chest.     Teenagers!   yeah, mine, yours, anybodies.  They are all the same.   "We just want to be entertained."   No work.  No out-put of energy. No planning.  Just put us in front of a screen, any screen and call it good.  "Actually, we will text you when we're done, cause calling and actually using words is too much effort"    REALLY?   I'm sick of it but I don't know what to do about it.   Yesterday, two of my teens went to a breakfast party with a group of friends from church.  They ate waffles and watched the movie "The Dark Night"   How fun and enteractive and joyful? NOT!   I couldn't believe it.  Then Esther goes over to her girlfriends and spends the afternoon watching more TV.   Is this really all they can come up with to do?  I understand that when it is yuck outside that TV seems to be the thing, but come on folks we live in Washington, we can't just watch TV  all the day long!    Kailey on the other hand was in Vegas jumping off the "SKYDIVE" on the top of the Statosphere building only a meer 108 stories high!   More creative than TV but REALLY?   Give your Mother a break,  I need somewhere in- between kiddos.  My teens are offitially up for sale or trade (only cute toddlers named Lucy need apply)

Big news at our house

I am trying to make my blog a halfway decent history of my year but I don't always take pictures so I don't blog everything because I think that is boring.  So I have to repent and take more pics or just be content to write more anyway.....enough said  A recent noteworthy event at our house was Nephi's court of honor.   Way cool!   every parent needs the experience.    Just when I think the kid couldn't be anymore difficult, stupid, thoughtless or clueless I  look up at him in his Scout uniform..... at all of his 6'4" handsomeness with a fresh haircut,  giving a super impressive-general authority- in- the- making speech and my heart is filled with pride and yes....hope!   This kid might have a future after all,  he might graduate from highschool and even do the missionary thing.  When I pinned that Eagle award on him  it was like magic,  whooo hooo..  a big cheer for Nephi's future!   Here is a pic of him on his project.  I think that it was cool that at one of our church camps (Zions)  they name the different camping areas by book of mormon names, so now in 'King Benjamins' camp there is a new stage that was Nephi Smith's Eagle project.
My husband has been the Scout Master for 6 years so it was also awesome for me to see him in action pulling together the best Court of Honor that I have ever been too.  He was as impressive as his son and just as handsome.
